Pend d'Oreilles people

The Upper Pend d' Oreille or Kalispel Upper, nowadays usually referred to simply as Pend d' Oreille along with the Lower Pend d' Oreille (also Lower Kalispel or simply Kalispel ) are a Native American tribal group, which at the time of the first contacts with Europeans on the Pend Oreille River, lived at Priest Lake and Lake Pend Oreille. Your tail area extended from Montana across the north from Idaho to the east of Washington and covered the area of Plains in Montana, the catchment area of ​​the Clark Fork River on the Pend Oreille up in the Canadian British Columbia. Culturally and linguistically they belong as the adjacent Flathead ( Selis or Salish ), Spokane ( Sqeliz ) and Coeur d' Alene ( Schitsu'umsh or Skitswish ) to the Southern inland Salish and are thus culturally to the cultural area of ​​the plateau.
