Peninsula

A peninsula is a body of water in a lying, even at high tide on the sea level have land mass that is predominantly, but not completely surrounded by water, but still has a natural connection to the mainland.

If there is a peninsula in inland waters ( lake, river ) is also called an internal Peninsula.

Definition

Peninsulas can have an area of up to several million square kilometers, but also be small enough so that its length ( which generally exceeds the width ) and width is only a few hundred meters.
