Penny Taylor

Penelope Jane Taylor -Gil (born 24 May 1981 in Mount Waverley, Melbourne) is an Australian basketball player who is active in the WNBA since 2001. Her biggest success with the Australian national team was winning the 2006 World Cup, in which she was awarded the most valuable player of the tournament. In December 2005, she married the Brazilian volleyball player shooting Rodrigo Gil.

Career

In 2001, Taylor of the Australian WNBL in the WNBA to the Cleveland Rockers. There she remained until early 2004, when the franchise was dissolved. In the subsequent Dispersal Draft, she was selected by the Phoenix Mercury in the first place. With this team Taylor -Gil was in 2007 and 2009 WNBA champion. 2002, 2007 and 2010, she was appointed to the All- Star team of the WNBA. In the off-season she was active in Italy for Termomeccanica La Spezia and Famila Schio, before they moved to Russia to UMMC Ekaterinburg 2007. Since 2009 she is at Fenerbahce under contract.

Taylor -Gil is since 1998 member of the Australian national team and won with their 2004 and 2008 Olympic silver medal in 2006 and the World Cup.
