Penrhyndeudraeth

Penrhyndeudraeth ( headland with two beaches in Welsh ) is a village with 1500 inhabitants in Gwynedd, Wales, near the River Dwyryd.

In 1852 the swamp was drained in what is now center of Penrhyndeudraeth by the owner David Williams, and the town began to grow steadily. With the connection to the railway network was built in 1872 with a gun cotton factory is one of the most important industries Penrhyndeudraeths. Even today, the city has two railway stations, one on the main line from Pwllheli to Shrewsbury and another, the Penrhyn Railway Station, which belongs to the Ffestiniog Railway.

In Penrhyndeudraeth died on 2 February 1970, the mathematician, logician and philosopher Bertrand Russell.
