People's Commissariat of Nationalities

The People's Commissariat of Nationalities (Russian Народный комиссариат по делам национальностей; transcription: Narodnyj Komissariat po Delam nazionalnostej in short, НКНац or Наркомнац; transcription: NKNaz or Narkomnaz ) was an agency of the Soviet Union. It was from 1917 to 1923 responsible for issues and problems associated with the various nationalities in the Soviet Union.

History

The People's Commissariat of Nationalities is one of the popular police stations that were formed immediately after the October Revolution on the basis of the decree on the formation of the Council of People's Commissars, which by the Second All-Russian Congress of Soviets on October 26 (November 8 ) was adopted.

The All-Russian Congress of Soviets adopted on 15 ( 2 ) November 1917, the Declaration on the Rights of the Peoples of Russia (Note: In contrast to the German language is in Russian strictly between " Russian" and " belonging to Russia " - russländisch - distinction ). In the People's Commissariat of Nationalities of Nationalities was created by a decree of 21 April 1921. This Nationalities included representatives of all the autonomous regions of the RSFSR.

The first People's Commissar of Nationalities was Josef Stalin.
