Peperomia columella

Peperomia columella is a plant of the genus Peperomia from the family of the pepper family ( Piperaceae ).

Description

Peperomia columella grows as a terrestrial, densely branched shrub, and is up to 20 inches high. The ascending, terete shoots are succulent and are up to 1 centimeter in diameter. Close to the drives sit the alternate arranged leaves. The leaf blade is peltate formed below the middle, folded lengthwise, forming a broad - linear metallic window. The bald, smooth leaf is 8-12 mm long, 5-8 mm wide and up to 6 mm high. In cross section it is depressed obovate ovate in side view. Towards the peak, it is tapered at the base, it is rounded. The leaf margin is provided with bladder cells. The short inflorescence consists of 2-5 branches with sitting, dichtblütigen, 10 to 18 millimeters long and 3 millimeters in diameter large expectant ears. The ovary is obovate and the scar sitting.
