Per Petterson

Per Petterson ( born July 18, 1952 in Oslo) is a Norwegian writer.

Life

The trained librarian worked as a bookseller, translator and literary critic, before he devoted himself entirely to writing.

His novel 's alright (Det he greit for meg ) was honored with the 1992 Spraklig samlings litteraturpris. His book longing to Siberia ( Til Sibir ) was nominated in 1997 for the Literature Prize of the Nordic Council; In 2007, Petterson for Stealing Horses ( Ut og stjæle hester ) to € 100,000 IMPAC. In 2009 he was for his novel I curse the river of time ( Jeg forbanner Tidens elv ) awarded the Literature Prize of the Nordic Council.
