Perené District

PERENE is a district in the province of Chanchamayo in the Junín region of Peru.

The district PERENE has an area of 1,224 km ², a population of 36,000 inhabitants (2002) and has a population density of 29.5 inhabitants / km ².

The largest municipalities in the district are PERENE and Santa Rosa, each with nearly 1,000 inhabitants ( 2002), also Uerto Yurinaki ( Bajo Yurinaqui ) with 200 inhabitants.

Largest river in the district is the Río PERENE which is formed from the confluence of the Río Chanchamayo with the Río Paucartambo.
