Perflunafen ( Perfluorodecalin ) is a chemical compound from the group of perfluorocarbons.

Properties

Perflunafen is a colorless, inert liquid and immiscible with water. It has a high density and is non-toxic.

Use

Perflunafen is used in certain eye surgeries to remove approximately shifted lenses ( lens dislocation ) from the vitreous humor, or even within the so-called pars plana vitrectomy in order to unfold the retina and back down again.
