Pertain

Pertain is a commune with 385 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region of northern France. Located in the far east of the landscape Santerre municipality in the canton of Nesle and is part of the Communauté de communes de Haute Picardie. The inhabitants are called Pertinois or Pertainais. Pertain to include the hamlet Berseaucourt.

History

To Pertain several Gallo- Roman country houses were found. The village was first mentioned in documents in 1116.

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.

Transport links

The municipality is situated on the D142 road department. The territory extends in the west to the D1017 ( downgraded Route nationale 17) approach.
