Perth Glory FC W-League

The Perth Glory Women are the women's football team of Australian football club Perth Glory FC from Perth, Western Australia. The professional team was founded in 2008 and plays in the W-League, the highest level of female football league in the country.

History

2008/ 09 - Foundation and first season

As the Australian football federation ( FFA) in 2008 the first woman professional league, the W-League founded, presented the Perth Glory FC at the same time on his women's team. As a trainer, Nicola Williams has been committed and the team started out as one of the eight founding teams in the first season of the W-League. After only three wins, two draws and five defeats, the season ended for the team on the penultimate seventh place.

2009 - Second Season

For the new season 2009 as coach goes to John Gibson. The team reached at the end of the season in sixth place in the table and thus failed to reach the W- League play- offs.

2010/11 - Third Season

In the third season in the W-League, the women's team did not come with a fifth place at the end of the season also. The play-offs were missed again.

2011/12 - Fourth Season

Before the season 2011/12 John Gibson left the coaching job. As a new coach, former Australian A-League player Jamie Harnwell was committed. With two wins and eight defeats, the team ended up second to last place in the table at the end of the season.

2012/13 - Fifth Season

Under coach Jamie Harnwell the team reached at the end of the 2012/13 season the second place and moved thus, as one of the top four teams in the table, for the first time in the play-offs of the W- League. After a 1-1 aet the team lost on penalties in the semi-finals with 3:4 against Melbourne Victory and so failed to reach the Grand Final.

2013/14 - Sixth Season

In the sixth season, the team reached the fifth place in the table and thus almost missed a place in the play-offs.
