Peta-Gaye Dowdie

Peta - Gaye Dowdie ( born January 18, 1977 in Saint Elizabeth Parish ) is a Jamaican sprinter.

His international breakthrough came two times Jamaican Champion in the 100 - meter race at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. There she won the title with the 4 x 100 - meter relay and finished third on 100 m. A few weeks later they celebrated the greatest success of her career at the World Athletics Championships in Seville. As a final leg led the Jamaican 4 x 100 meters relay together with Aleen Bailey, Merlene Frazer and Beverly McDonald in 42.15 s for the bronze medal behind the teams of the Bahamas ( 41.92 s ) and France ( 42.06 s ). Dowdie off from Seville in the 100 -meter run, left here however in the quarter-final round.

In 2005 she was at the Central American and Caribbean Championship third in the 200 -meter run. Other successes it achieved in the relay with victories at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and at the Pan American Games in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro. In Melbourne they had missed over 100 m in fourth of their semi-final run into the finals scarce.
