Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation

The international Gruber Prizes are awarded annually by the Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation in three areas:

  • Gruber Prize for Cosmology since 2000
  • Gruber Prize for Genetics since 2001
  • Gruber Prize for Neuroscience since 2004

Two prizes were awarded last in 2011, the award has been set:

  • Gruber Justice Prize since 2001
  • Gruber Prize for Women's Rights since 2003

With the prices of prominent natural and social scientists and lawyers are excellent. The Award consists of a gold medal and a prize money of half a million U.S. dollars.

The foundation of the Investment Manager Peter Gruber, a Jewish refugee originating from Hungary, has its headquarters on St. Thomas, which is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
