Peter Denoyelles

Peter Denoyelles (* 1766 in Haverstraw, New York, † May 6, 1829 ) was an American politician. Between 1813 and 1815 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Peter Denoyelles grew up during the British colonial period and enjoyed a good education. Then he went to the manufacture of bricks. He sat in the years 1802 and 1803 in the New York State Assembly. He held several local offices. Politically, he was a member of the founded by Thomas Jefferson Democratic- Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1812 Denoyelles was in the third electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Pierre Van Cortlandt junior on March 4, 1813. Since he gave up for reelection in 1814, he retired after the March 3, 1815 out of the Congress. Then he resumed his activities as a manufacturer of bricks. He died on 6 May 1829 in Haverstraw and was then buried on Mount Repose Cemetery.
