Peter Durand
Pierre Durand ( Peter, * 1766, † 1822) was a British dealer. He was christened on August 25, 1810 a patent on the tin.
Based on the discovery by Nicolas Appert to preserve food in glass jars, Durand developed a method in 1810 with cans.
Durand conserved even though no food, but sold the patent to the British Bryan Donkin and John Hall, who founded a canning factory and in 1813 sold their products to the British Army.
