Peter Elson

Peter George Elson, short Peter Elson ( born January 13, 1947 in Ealing, London, † March 1998 in Skegness ) was an English science fiction illustrator.

Elson has illustrated hundreds Cover of science fiction novels in the 70s and 80s. Elson's works were mostly detailed spaceship drawings which were displayed in front of a colorful space background. His work and his style influenced an entire generation of science fiction illustrators and concept artists.

Michelson died in March 1998 in Skegness, England from a heart attack after he had created for the Butlin 's Holiday Camps collage for a wall mural and has been resting in a hotel bar. Most of his work after his death fell into the possession of his sister.

The spaceship designs of real-time strategy game Homeworld of 1999 ( and later Homeworld: Cataclysm and Homeworld 2 ) present strong similarities to the illustrations by artist Chris Foss and Peter Elson, both of which go in the special thanks section of the end credits ( credits ) be mentioned.
