Peter Glob

Peter Vilhelm Glob ( born February 20, 1911 in Kalundborg, † 20 July 1985) was a Danish Prehistoric archaeologist, museum curator and antiquary Empire ( Rigsantikvar ). He was the son of the painter Johannes Glob Ejner ( 1882-1955 ).

Glob, who first taught at the University of Aarhus and the Forhistorik Museum (later in Moesgård ) initiated, was the beyond Denmark for its work on Barkjær, one of the systems of type Konens Høj, the typology of battle-axes of the single grave culture in 1944 and to bog bodies known. With the work on his book Mosefolket. on Danish bog body finds he gave the European bog body research new ideas. In addition, he conducted research in Greenland and Bahrain ( Dilmun ). In 1960, he was the successor of John Brøndsted as director of the National Museum in Copenhagen and was also 21 years antiquarian Empire.
