In 1956 he returned to Germany.

After studying music in Nuremberg, he played the trombone in various jazz bands, including with Udo Lindenberg founded in 1969 Formation Free Orbit. He was many years as a trombonist also for orchestra by Bert Kaempfert with jazz greats such as Jiggs Whigham and Herb Geller, which he took in his Big Band, which was founded Rhythm Combination & Brass 1969. In this group, the rhythm section was ( with two keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and percussion ) the eight winds ( Allan Botschinsky, Dusko Goykovich, Palle Mikkel Borg, Art Farmer, Herbolzheimer, Jiggs Whigham, Rudi Fuesers, Joe Gallardo, etc.) compared to equivalent while the saxophone section usually on a single wind instruments ( Herb Geller or Heinz von Hermann, Ferdinand Povel later ) was reduced. The concentration on plate without a saxophone section enabled strong contrasts between precision rate and soloistic space. With this band he frequently appeared on radio and television, including Bio 's Bahnhof.
