Peter Hobbs (novelist)

Peter Hobbs (born 1973 ) is a British writer.

Life

Peter Hobbs grew up in Cornwall and North Yorkshire. He studied at New College, a college of the University of Oxford. He schliss into politics and started a job at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which led him to Pakistan. But shortly after the arrival ill Hobbs difficult. He was bedridden for two years and then took five more years to recover from the disease. During this time he began writing short stories.

With The Short Day Dying Hobbs debuted in 2005 as a writer. For his novel, he was awarded the Betty Trask Award and was shortlisted for each literary prizes such as the Costa Book Award, the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. Under the title at the end of a short day the novel was laid in German language in 2007 by the Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt.
