Peter Kjær (footballer)

Peter Kjær ( born November 5, 1965 in Fredericia, Denmark ) is a former Danish football player.

Club career

Vejle BK

Kjær began his professional career in 1983 with Vejle BK. With the Jutlanders he was, in 1984, the Danish champions.

Silkeborg IF

The Jutlanders he played for almost ten years before he moved to Silkeborg IF in early 1994. With Silkeborg he was also champion and was there goalkeeper.

Besiktas Istanbul

During the winter break of the season 2000/ 01 he moved abroad and hired the Turkish giants Beşiktaş Istanbul. There, however, he could not prevail.

Aberdeen FC

Therefore, Kjær joined in the summer for Scottish club Aberdeen FC. He immediately became the goalkeeper. In 2003, he finished his career.

National

U -21 National Team

Kjær completed 1986-1988 17 appearances for the U21 Denmark.

A-team

Pete Kjær won in 1995 with the national team of Denmark the Confederations Cup.

However, he did not come at that time to use.

Even at the football World Cup in 1998 and the European Football Championship 2000, he was a member of the squad.

It was only on 25 April 2001 he made his debut for the senior team. 3-0 win against the national team of Slovenia he was in the 65th minute, substitute for Peter Schmeichel, whose last international match it was.

He made his last international match on 27 March 2002 in a friendly match in the 0-3 defeat against Ireland. Kjær came on in that country game for half-time for Thomas Sørensen.

He was nominated for the FIFA World Cup 2002, but did not play. Kjær came only four matches ( one of which is the full -time).
