Peter Lehmann (author)

Peter Lehmann ( * 1950 in Calw in the Black Forest ) is a German social worker, author, book publisher and retailer, as well as activists of humanistic anti-psychiatry in Berlin.

Life

Peter Lehmann has completed a graduate degree in social work. He represented the company since the late 1970s positions of humanistic anti-psychiatry and in 1980 was co-founder of Berlin's " madman " offensive eV, in 1987 the Swiss Association PSYCHEX 1989 e of the Association for Protection against Psychiatric Violence, in 1991 the European Network of Psychiatry V., 1996 the Berlin Runaway House and 2008 the European Democratic Movement for Mental Health. As a representative of MindFreedom International, ENUSP and the Federal Association of Psychiatric Survivors 2007 he was a member of the organizing committee of the conference " compulsory treatment in psychiatry ," hosted by the World Psychiatric Association in Dresden.

Peter Lehmann has worked as a nonfiction writer and mail-order bookseller. Since 1990 he is co-editor of the UK appearing the Journal of Critical Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Awards

  • 2010: Psychological Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece): an honorary doctorate.
  • 2011: Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
