Peter Lord

Peter Lord ( born 1953 in Bristol, United Kingdom ) is a British director and producer and co-founder of the Oscar-winning Aardman Animation Studios.

Life

Together with his friend David Sproxton founded Lord mid-1970s the initially mentioned only Aardman film production company in a backyard building of Bristol. In order to realize the common dream of own individual cartoon style, the two experimented with plasticine and developed the Claymationtechnik ( clay engl. = Kneading or modeling clay ). Lord and Sproxton photographed the movements in elaborate stop-motion technique. A little later, Nick Park joined the duo. Park was the creator of Wallace and Gromit short films. Lord, Sproxton and Park 2000 were awarded several times for Chicken Run (her first animated feature film length) and received the 2005 Academy Award for her feature-length animated film Wallace & Gromit: On the hunt for the giant rabbit.
