Peter Löscher

Peter Löscher ( born September 17, 1957 in Villach, Austria ) is an Austrian manager. He was appointed at an extraordinary meeting of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG on May 20, 2007 Chairman of the Board and entered this office on July 1, 2007. On July 31, 2013, was dismissed by the Supervisory Board as Chief Executive Officer and resigned from the Managing Board of Siemens AG.

Training

Extinguisher grew up in Villach, where his father ran a sawmill. Due to a serious illness he missed the first three primary school years. His mother taught him at home reading and writing. He was joined in 1987 and for twelve years the pharmaceutical company Hoechst, eg Spain, Japan, the UK and the USA. After the merger with Hoechst, Rhône-Poulenc into Aventis he remained there until 2002. Pharmaceutical company Amersham was his next stop. This was a year later acquired by General Electric, and Löscher joined the Board of Directors of General Electric. In 2006 he joined the board of the U.S. pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. On May 20, 2007, the Company announced that Peter Löscher will on July 1, Siemens CEO. In extinguisher tenure fell a great group restructuring and the sale of large subsidiaries or investments such as Siemens IT Solutions and Services and Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
