Peter Mohr Dam

Peter Mohr Dam ( born August 11, 1898 in Skopun; † 8 November 1968 in Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands ) was a social-democratic Faroese politician.

The teacher PM Dam from Tvøroyri was co-founded in 1926, and from 1936 until his death in 1968 Chairman, the Faroese Social Democratic Party. From 1958 to 1963 and 1967 to 1968 he was Minister of the Faroe Islands.

Peter Mohr Dam was the father of Atli P. Dam, another " heavyweight" in the Faroese policy. His granddaughter Helena Dam á Neystabø is a well known social democrat.

It is also noteworthy that the Prime Minister Kristian Djurhuus and Hákun Djurhuus were also his relatives.
