Peter Öberg (orienteer)

Peter Öberg (born 17 April 1980) is a Swedish orienteers. Öberg in 2006 with the Swedish squadron European Champion and won the 2007 and 2010 two silver medals at world championships.

Öberg was nominated for the Junior World Championships in Varna and Nove Mesto 1999 and 2000, was able to achieve more success in the individual competitions. With the Swedish season he won the silver medal in 2000. After two participations in the Nordic championships he was allowed to participate in 2006, which now has 26 years for the first time at the European Championships. While he finished a respectable fifth place in the middle distance, won in the relay race together with Niclas Jonasson and David Andersson the gold medal ahead of the teams from France and Norway. the following year he now started for the first time at the World Championships and was with the Swedish team ( Öberg, David Andersson and Emil Wingstedt ) behind Russia win the silver medal. His second World Series won silver Öberg 2010 in Trondheim in the individual over the middle distance, as he stayed behind the Carl Waaler Kaas Norway seven seconds. In 2011 he was second again on the middle distance, this time behind the Frenchman Thierry Gueorgiou. 2012 and 2013, he won the Swedish squadron World Cup bronze and silver.

Öberg is running for the Swedish club Hällen OK. As a junior he won six Swedish championship title. Oberg is married.
