Peter Poreku Dery

Peter Cardinal Dery Poreku ( born May 10, 1918 in Zemuopare - Ko, Ghana, † March 6, 2008 in Tamale, Ghana ) was Archbishop of Tamale.

Life

Peter Poreku Dery was the fourth of ten children of a fetish priest from the tribe of Dagaba. After studying theology and philosophy at the seminary in Navrongo and Wiagha he received on 11 February 1951, the sacrament of Holy Orders by the then Bishop of Tamale Gérard Bertrand.
