Peter Thorup

Peter Thorup ( born December 14, 1948August 3, 2007 in Ronne, Bornholm ) was a Danish musician. As a guitarist, singer, composer and producer, he shaped the blues scene in Denmark.

In the 1960s, he was in his home country with his band " Beefeaters " on the road, could enjoy great popularity in the late 60's Alexis Korner took care of her.

From 1969 he worked in England closely with Alexis Korner and played together with Korner, whose daughter Sappho Korner, Nick South, Ray Warleigh, Annette Brox, Per Frost and Colin Hodgkinson in New Church. Your first appearance, the group of grains as the opening act for the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park at the Memorial concert for Brian Jones on July 5, 1969. Already one year later, the band broke up again, since the success failed to materialize.

From 1970 Thorup belonged to Korner's studio band CCS. After its dissolution in 1973 Korner and Thorup founded together with Boz Burrell from King Crimson and Ian Wallace, the band " Snape ", which was only briefly. Snape was korners last band project; after its dissolution had the alcoholics Thorup, mainly in Denmark and could not go on its previous successes. Together with Ole Frimer he formed the duo " Peter Thorup & Ole Frimer ". He also worked a lot together with the Danish drummer Ken Gudman.
