Peter Torry

Sir Peter James Torry, GCVO, KCMG ( born August 2, 1948) is a British diplomat.

Life

He was educated at Dover College and New College, Oxford. Where he won the trophy Blue in Rugby.

He is married and has three daughters, Emma, Harriet and Katherine Torry.

For the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, he was accredited in Washington DC, Bonn, Jakarta and Cuba.

From 1998 to 2003 he was ambassador at Her Majesty Juan Carlos in Spain. From 2003 to September 30, 2007, he was Ambassador of Her Majesty in Berlin.

2005 Spiegel Online interview of him was published. In The Times of 8 September 2009 he commented on the federal election of 2009. He was awarded the B'nai B'rith Europe Award grants.
