Peter Van Houdt

Peter Van Houdt (* November 4, 1976 in Hasselt ) is a Belgian footballer.

Career

Association

Van Houdt began in his home town of Hasselt with the football and eventually rose at the nearby VV St. Truiden on in the professional sector. There reached twice a central place in the table and in his final season, the Cup semi-final against FC Bruges. In return game lost St. Truiden 1:3, respectively, with Van Houdt was scorer of his team in the first leg. After two years, he finally went to the Netherlands and joined there at Roda. With the Dutchman he landed although usually in mid-table, but was twice the KNVB Cup (1997, 2000) to win and took part in the European Cup twice. In 2000 he switched from Kerkrade to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 2nd Bundesliga. From there, managed directly in Van Houdts first season promotion to the Bundesliga and he was behind the Dutchman Arie van Lent 's second top scorer in the Borussia. In German football upper house he was with Gladbach first twelfth, scoring six goals. When he visibly lost his place in the next two seasons in addition to van Lent and had to play even in the amateurs, he went in early 2004 for MSV Duisburg. In Duisburg, he was first, seventh and managed in the following season promotion to the Bundesliga. After the Meidericher had to start the transition to the 2nd Bundesliga as Table Van Houdt left the club and returned to the Belgian VV St. Truiden. After his return he was top scorer with ten goals prompt the association and narrowly escaped relegation became the fifteenth. This could not be prevented, so he spent his last professional season in the Second Division in the on coming season. Since then he has only been active in the Belgian amateur.

National

Van Houdt took part in the 1993 U-16 European Championship in Turkey and retired there in the quarterfinals to eventual champions Poland. He subsequently ran for more U- national teams, took with them but not participate in any tournament. His debut in the senior team, he was on 27 March 1999 in a friendly against Bulgaria, where he came nine minutes used. Then he came to a further short stint and then paused to 2001, where he came off the bench again in the World Cup play-off against the Czech Republic. There, Belgium was able to put through, but Van Houdt did not participate in the 2002 World Cup. Shortly after the World Cup he came under the new national coach Aimé Anthuenis again to a total of three inserts, and then never ran again on the national team.
