Professional activity

Since 1974, Vetsch operates its own architectural office in Zumikon ( Zurich ), from 1978 in Dietikon near Zurich. Vetsch since 1974 has been pioneer in earth houses. He is the only architect with over 47 earth houses realized world. In addition to the earth houses built Vetsch but also conventional buildings. His interest is primarily the ecological and environmentally friendly architecture.

Since the late 1970s, does Peter Vetsch talk with earth houses by themselves. Using shotcrete constructions he creates building envelopes which enclose the maximum volume with minimal surface and thus are an ideal shape for the energy balance. The buildings negate the right angle and overcome with spatial diversity, the monotony of the traditional and normal construction. They are reminiscent of the organic shapes of Antoni Gaudí and the buildings of Art Nouveau.
