Peter Ward (footballer born 1955)

Peter Ward ( born July 27, 1955 in Derby, England ) is a former English footballer.

Ward joined in 1975 by the club Burton Albion to third division side Brighton & Hove Albion. The transfer fee for the striker was £ 4000. After half a year in the reserve team he was on 27 March 1976 against Hereford United Ligaapiel his debut in the first team and scored in the first minute, his first goal for the club.

In the 1976/77 season he made with 36 gates on a new club record and assured of his club's promotion to the Second Division. In 1979 he rose to Brighton on in the First Division.

After a hat-trick in an international match of the English U- 21 team, he was invited in October 1977 by coach Ron Greenwood for World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg, but remained as a substitute on the bench. His only use in the national team, he played on May 31, 1980 in the 2-1 victory of England against Australia.

In October 1980, Ward moved to first division club Nottingham Forest. For the club he played 28 games in which he scored seven goals. Since he could not establish itself as a regular player he was loaned in 1982 to the Seattle Sounders in the North American Soccer League. After he returned briefly to Brighton, he played until 1987 for different clubs in North America, where he now lives.
