Petitgrain is the name of a colorless to yellowish essential oil, which is extracted from the leaves, twigs and unripe green fruit of the bitter orange. It is used for perfumery as middle note and is obtained by steam extraction.

The basic chemical substances of which Petitgrain is, are geraniol, linalool, nerol, terpineol, geranyl acetate, linalyl acetate, myrcene, neryl acetate and trans - ocimene.
