Petra Kammerevert

Petra chamber Evert ( born June 1, 1966 in Duisburg ) is a German politician (SPD).

She is since 2009 a member of the European Parliament and Member of the Group of Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.

Life and professional career

After graduating from high school in 1985 at the Municipal Lessing -Gymnasium in Dusseldorf graduated chamber Evert study sociology and political science at the University of Duisburg, where she graduated with a degree in social scientist. From 1992 to 2002 she worked as a research fellow MEPs first one and a half years in Brussels and then in Dusseldorf. From 2002-2009 she has been a lecturer in the ARD program management and managed the office of the ARD Program Advisory Board.

Kammerevert lives in Dusseldorf and is married.

Party

Chamber Evert joined the SPD in 1984 and first became involved increasingly as a board member of the Young Socialists in the district of Lower Rhine ( 1987-1990). In 1992, Evert chamber to the presidency of the Young Socialists Dusseldorf, which she held until 1995. It belongs since 1997 to the sub- district executive of the SPD Dusseldorf. From 1999 to 2009 she was a member of the City Council Dusseldorf. Since 2004 she is also a member of the board of the SPD Lower Rhine.

In the European elections 2009, she was selected as the SPD deputy in the European Parliament. Your local service area includes Dusseldorf, Krefeld, the district of Mettmann, Mönchengladbach, Kreis Neuss, Remscheid, Solingen and Wuppertal.

Member of the European Parliament

Their duties and responsibilities in the European Parliament heard their membership of the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT - the Committee is responsible not only for the areas of culture and education also for information, media, youth and sports policy) and her Deputy member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism ( TRAN ). She is also a member of the Delegation to the EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee.

Since December 2009 Chamber Evert is a member of the WDR Broadcasting Council and there chairman of the program committee. She is also a member of the party executive of the German SPD and there in the Bureau worked in the Media Commission.
