Petri Vehanen

Petri Vehanen ( born October 9, 1977 in Rauma ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since April 2013 when HC Lev Prague in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Petri Vehanen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of Lukko Rauma, for the first team, he was active in the SM- liiga 1995-1998. Then the goalkeeper played a year for the Viking Hockey in the Norwegian GET - ligaen before he was in another six years for Lukko in Finland between the posts. In this period he came in the 2000 /01 season in addition to four inserts for HC Val Pusteria in the Italian Serie A. In the summer of 2005, signed the Finn at the Mora IK of the Swedish Elitserien, for whom he was also a season long active as then for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in the Russian Super League. From 2006 until November 2009 entered Vehanen at another time with Rauma in the SM- liiga. He was then issued in exchange for the Swede Mikael Tellqvist to the Russian champions Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League.

After the 2011/12 season Vehanen returned from the KHL again to his hometown club back. Again, a year later he received a new contract in the KHL, this time at HC Lev Prague.

Internationally

For Finland Vehanen took part in the 2008 World Championship, where he finished in third place with his team. In Slovakia, in 2011 he won the world championship title by a 6-1 final win against Sweden.
