Petri Ylönen

Petri Ylönen ( born October 2, 1962 in Helsinki ) is a former Finnish- French professional ice hockey goaltender who has played in its active period from 1986 to 2002, including for the Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. His son Sebastian is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Petri Ylönen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of TuTo Hockey, for the first team he made his debut in the I divisioona, the Finnish second division was in the 1986/87 season. Subsequently, the goalkeeper moved to the Diables Rouges de Briançon in the French Ligue Magnus. In France, he was able to convince straight away and won in 1988 and 1989, the Trophée Jean Ferrand as the best goalkeeper in the Ligue Magnus. From 1989 to 1996 he was at the League rival Dragons de Rouen under contract. In this period, he became in 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995 a total of five times French Champion. He was also in 1991 and 1996 with his team runner-up and received in the years 1992, 1993 and 1994, three times in a row again, the Trophée Jean Ferrand as the best goalkeeper in the Ligue Magnus.

From 1996 to 1998 Ylönen stood at the Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga between the posts. Then, the two -time Olympian paused for two years with ice hockey before he was for the Toulouse Blagnac Hockey Club in Division 2, the third game French class, active from 2000 to 2002. He then finished his career at the age of 39 years.

Internationally

For France Ylönen took on the B- 1991 World Series and the A World Championships in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of France at the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville in 1992 and 1994 in Lillehammer.
