Petrol Group

Petrol d.d. is a Slovenian energy company with its headquarters in Ljubljana and the largest companies by turnover in Slovenia.

History

The previous company Jugopetrol Ljubljana was established in 1947 by resolution, which was founded two years earlier Jugopetrol Beograd, the company at that time had only ten stations and a refinery in Maribor. In 1953 it was renamed the Trgovsko podjetje Petrol v Ljubljani. The station network has continued to expand in the following years - 1965, 68 stations, 174 stations and five years later in 1974 already 230 stations have already been operated. 1974 began trading in natural gas. In 1996 the company was converted into a limited company under the name Petrol, Slovenska Naftna družba, dd Ljubljana, one year later, the shares were floated on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange. 1996 also began the internationalization with the establishment of a subsidiary in Croatia, where in 1999 the first gas stations were built. A year later came the first stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia in 2003.

Activities

The activities of petroleum are classified into two groups: Oil and gas trading, environmental and other energy activities

Oil trading

With a turnover of 2.8 billion euros, the oil business is the most important branch of petrol.

Petrol is an oil company that has no own production capacity ( production, refinery ) but solely acts. The company is the market leader in Slovenia in both the wholesale and at the pump. Both activities were extended to other countries of the former Yugoslavia. , 2009, Petrol over 433 stations, of which 311 in Slovenia, 73 in Croatia, 40 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia 3 in, 4 in Kosovo and two in Montenegro.

Gas, environmental and other energy activities

Other activities in 2009 generated only sales of 0.1 billion euros. For these activities, the sale of electricity (about 430,000 MWh per year ) and natural gas is one (100 million m³ per year).
