Petsuchos

Petesuchos is a crocodile god, who was worshiped from the 2nd to 3rd century AD in the Fayyum and described as a minor form of God " Sobek in Faiyum ."

Name Meaning

After Hans Bonnet his name " of, has given the Suchos " means. It is difficult to assign a specific task to this God, and it was assumed that it was at Petesuchos a deified man. Adolf Erman, its acceptance was based on Pliny, however, suspected that he was the builder of the labyrinth. However Petesuchos was probably the name of a sacred crocodile, which was worshiped in Faiyum in this way.
