Petzl

Petzl is a French manufacturer of mountaineering equipment, equipment for high-altitude rescue and working at heights as well as headlamps. The company was founded in 1973 by cavers Fernand Petzl.

Originally specializing in material for caving expeditions, the company is now also manufactures a number of other pieces of equipment.

Petzl became famous in mountaineering field, notably through its headlamps and through the development of security devices such as the Grigri and descender and rescue devices such as the I'D S.
