Château Triadou

On the western outskirts of the village, the Château Triadou stands with his garden. It was from 1470 by Pierre d' Albignac II († 1517), Lord of Triadou built and occupied in July 1479 he and his wife Flore de Capluc. It was around 1559 by Pierre III. d' Albignac (1529-1596), the grandson of the two, extended, after their war chest and ensure that funds seized in a raid on passing Protestant troops to construction financing. The rest of the treasure, it was said, he hid to betray his heirs without the hiding place. His son Simon d' Albignac (1560-1644) expanded his possession by purchase of adjacent lands, and thus Peyreleau was the center of an important rule. Simon's son François I d' Albignac (1600-1696) left the estate in 1669, significantly expanding, in particular through the construction of new living quarters, an octagonal chapel and a large square tower.

The last inhabitants of the castle from the house Albignac, Philippe -François de Castelnau d' Albignac († 1814), Bishop of Angoulême, in 1792 went into exile in England and died in London on 3 January 1814. They had accused him head a to be counter-revolutionary band of robbers who had become notorious for terrible acts of violence, and on July 27, 1791 sent the authorities from Millau a squad of militiamen of the Chateau Triadou that it ransacked and looted, while at one stage of the main staircase two boxes with gold and silver found. The accusation against the bishop was probably baseless and merely the pretext for the search of the castle and the seizure of the treasure of Pierre III. d' Albignac. The property was confiscated by the community and served as mayor until the construction of a new building in 1893.

On 12 May 1944, the castle was classified as a monument historique. It is privately owned.

Clock Tower

The highest point in the village is the mighty square clock tower. Today it is owned by the municipality, which operates in guest rooms.

The tower was erected in 1617 by Simon d' Albignac on the foundations of an old, built in the 12th century castle, of which only the remains of the outer walls remain today. It belonged successively to the Mont Ferrand family, de la Chapelle family, Alfonso of Poitiers (brother of Louis IX. ) As Count of Rouergue, then in the 15th century, the very rich family Sévérac. In the 15th century the family d' Albignac moved the castle, but initially to be without an owner. After the construction of the castle Triadou they left the old castle, and entered into the castle to. In the early 18th century, then bought François II d' Albignac, grandson of Simon d' Albignac, the castle and dominion Peyreleau for 30,000 livres. The Marquis of Sévérac retained at the sale of the repurchase right on the he but a few years later waived upon payment of a further 5,000 livres.
