Peyrieras - Woolly Lemur ( Avahi peyrierasi )

The Peyrieras - Woolly Lemur ( Avahi peyrierasi ) is a primate of the group of lemurs. He was described in 2006 as an independent from the Eastern Woolly Lemur species and is named after the French zoologist André Peyrieras.

Peyrieras - Wollmakis reach a body length of about 27 centimeters to about 33 centimeters comes a long tail. Its weight is about 0.9 to 1.1 kg. Their fur is dense and woolly, it is reddish brown on the top and colored light gray at the bottom. The bushy tail is redder than the torso. The head is rounded, the eyes are large, the snout short and dark.

Peyrieras - Wollmakis come like all lemurs available only in Madagascar, where they inhabit the rain forests on the east coast. The exact extent of their range are not known, one of its main occurrence is in the Ranomafana National Park. The life of these newly described species is not known, probably agrees with that of the other Wollmakis match. Consequently, they are nocturnal and arboreal, climbing and jumping the vertical move around, live in monogamous family groups and feed mainly on leaves.

Also, their level of vulnerability is unclear. The IUCN lists the species under "too little data available " ( data deficient ).
