The Pfitzbach or Pfützbach, called the upper reaches Polsambach, is a good 12 km long, orographic left tributary of the Werra on the western border of the district Schmalkalden- Meiningen Wartburg district in the west of Thuringia. It rises on the western slope of the pyramidal Pless in the east of the salt Unger Werra mountain country.

The Polsambach first runs north across the Polsamgrund that represents the border of the two aforementioned counties. South Langenfelds he leaves the mountains as well as the outskirts of the district Schmalkalden- Meiningen and winds its way from now on exclusively in the Wartburg district in northeastern directions, then joins in the northeast Bad Salzungen into the Werra.
