Geography

The place is located in the Hallertau in the levels of Donauauen, at the Backwater, which are fed by Kelsbach. The Danube flows directly south past the place. North extend the gently rolling hills of the early Jurassic. Pförring is 25 km from Ingolstadt and 95 km from Munich. Pförring is located on the border of Lower Bavaria.

History

About 1.3 km northeast of the present village was the Castrum Celeusum, one of 80 forts which the Limes secured between the Rhine and the Danube. Sports
