Phak Hai District

Amphoe Phak Hai ( Thai: อำเภอ ผักไห่ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northwestern part of the province ( Changwat ) Ayutthaya. The Ayutthaya Province located in the central region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from north clockwise): Amphoe Wiset Chai Chan and Mok Pa Ang Thong province, the Amphoe Bang Ban, Sena and Bang Sai Ayutthaya province as well as the Amphoe Bang Pla Ma and Mueang Suphanburi Suphanburi province.

History

In the past, this was called the district Khwaeng Sena Yai. He was converted to an Amphoe towards the end of the 19th century. In 1917 the district was renamed after the name of the central Tambon Phak Hai.

Wahrschweinlich the name originates Phak Hai from a Nirat seal of Thailand's national poet Sunthorn Phu, which mentions a village called Ban Pak Hai. However, the Thai spelling was changed so that it is now named after a type of grass that grows in swamps later.

Administrative divisions

Amphoe Phak Hai is divided into 16 communes ( tambon) divided in turn into 128 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Phak Hai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผักไห่ ) consists of the whole Tambon Phak Hai and Chakkarat.
  • Ban Khae ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ลาด ชะโด ) consists of the whole tambon Ban Khae.

There are still seven - Tambon administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) in the district.
