Phạm Minh Mẫn

Jean -Baptiste Cardinal Phạm Minh Man ( born March 5, 1934 in Cà Mau, Vietnam) is Emeritus Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City.

Life

Jean -Baptiste Phạm Minh was received after a study of Catholic theology in 1965, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He then worked in various offices in the formation of priests, including many years in hiding. After relaxation of the political situation and reopening of some seminars he took over in the absence of qualified theologians also lecturing work.

Was received in 1993 and was consecrated bishop Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of My Tho. 1998 Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Thành Pho Hồ Chí Minh and took him in 2003 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Giustino in the College of Cardinals to.
