Phan Thanh Giản
Phan Thanh Gian ( Hán Nom:潘 淸 简* November 11, 1796; † August 4, 1867 ) was a Vietnamese politician of the Nguyễn Dynasty, historian, philosopher of Neo-Confucianism and diplomat.
He was Vietnam's ambassador to France from 1862 to 1863 and then Southern magistrate of Vietnam from 1864 to 1867. His nickname was Lương Khe (梁溪).
