Pharmazie-Historisches Museum der Universität Basel

The Pharmacy Museum can be found in the Swiss city of Basel and dedicated to the history of pharmacy.

The museum houses one of the world's largest collections on the history of pharmacy. One finds pharmacist ceramics, all pharmacists Mobiliare, an alchemist's laboratory, mortars, first-aid kits, books, medicines from earlier days and everything related to drug manufacturing (and hocus-pocus, the materia medica ) had to do.

History

The Pharmacy Museum was founded in 1925 by the University of Basel and found his exhibition rooms in the old house to the front chair at Totengässlein where once Paracelsus and Erasmus of Rotterdam and received. In 2001, the entrance area of the museum was rebuilt and a historic pharmacy, the herbarium, now a museum ticket office and shop.
