Phasi Charoen District

Phasi Charoen ( Thai ภาษีเจริญ ) is one of the 50 districts (Khet ) of Bangkok, capital of Thailand. Phasi Charoen is a city district situated west along the Phetkhasem Road.

Geography

Phasi Charoen borders with seven other districts, clockwise from the north: Taling Chan, Bangkok Noi, Bangkok Yai, Thonburi, Chom Thong, Bang Bon, Bang Khae and.

History

The name of the district comes from the same Khlong Phasi Charoen ( คลอง ภาษีเจริญ ), which flows through the district from northeast to southwest. The Khlong Tha Chin River connects the Khlong Bangkok Yai via the Chao Phraya River.

The district was founded in 1899 as Amphoe Phasi Charoen Province Thonburi. In 1972 he became a part of the district Taling Chan and Bang Khun Tien another for Khet Phasi Charoen.

Festivals

  • The Chak Phra Festival at Wat Nang Chi and Wat Kai animal ( งาน ชักพระ วัด นางชี - วัด ไก่เตี้ย ) is celebrated every year on the 16th day of the 12th lunar month. In a procession of flower-decked boats are with Buddha statues on the Khlongs from Wat Nang Chi to Wat Kai animal and rowed back.
