Phenamidin (trade name Oxopirvedine ad us. Vet ) is a drug from the group of benzamidines, which is used in veterinary medicine as an antiprotozoal against Babesia in the form of Phenamidinisethionat ( CAS Number 620-90-6 ). Since the active ingredient often triggers allergic reactions, it is usually combined with an antihistamine. Phenamidinisethionat forms white, odorless, crystalline powder with a bitter taste.

Phenamidin can be used to treat babesiosis of the dog, the horse babesiosis and babesiosis in cattle. Against Babesia felis he is hardly effective. In underdosing rapidly develop resistance.
