Phenylphosphine is an organophosphorus compound or a monosubstituted phosphine.
Representation and extraction
Synthesis of phenylphosphine achieved by means of lithium aluminum hydride reduction of dichlorophenylphosphine.
Properties
Phenylphosphine is a colorless liquid with an unpleasant odor to ekelerregendem. Similar to phosphine tends to connect to the air for spontaneous self-ignition. It is therefore considered to be pyrophoric. The controlled oxidation by atmospheric oxygen to give the corresponding phosphonic acid.
Use
Phenylphosphine is used in the polymer synthesis, where it forms a phosphorus-containing polymers in polyaddition using 1,4- divinylbenzene or 1,4- diisopropenylbenzene. These have in inflammation self-extinguishing properties. In a mixture of combustible polymers such as polyethylene or polypropylene, flame -resistant materials can be obtained.
