Phibun Mangsahan District

Amphoe Phibun Mangsahan ( Thai: อำเภอ พิบูลมังสาหาร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Amphoe the Buntharik, Det Udom, Na Yia, Sawang Wirawong, Tan Sum, Si Mueang Mai, Khong Chiam and Sirindhorn of Ubon Ratchathani province.

History

The name of the district was originally Phimun Mangsahan ( พิ มูล มังสา หาร ), but he was on 30 July 1940 during the reign of Prime Minister Phibunsongkhram renamed to its present name Phibun Mangsahan.

Administrative units

Amphoe Phibun Mangsahan is ( tambon) divided into fourteen municipalities, which in turn in 169 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two towns in the County:

  • Phibun Mangsahan ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง พิบูลมังสาหาร ) itself has a town status ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of the whole Tambon Phibun.
  • Ang Sila ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล อ่าง ศิลา ) is a small town ( thesaban tambon), it consists of parts of the Tambon Ang Sila.

There are also thirteen administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).

Note: the missing geocodes refer to the Tambon, from which today consists of the county Sirindhorn.
